TICKETS:

• Please have your tickets in hand on the day as tickets must be presented to gain entry
• Today is the last day to prepurchase tickets, via Eftpos at the school office only
• Gate sales available with cash on the day at the far gate on Jervois Road (Event Entrance) $75 Family Pass, $35 Adults and $15 Children

REMINDERS

• The weather forecast is looking good.
• Gates open at 11.30am.Entry is the far Gate on Jervois Road by the roundabout
• Please have all your children at school by no later than 12.00pmfor the whole school performance! They have been practicing very hard.
• NOalcohol or food may be brought into the event
• Don’t forget a picnic blanket to sit on
• Tents/gazebos, umbrellas and high deck chairs are not allowed as this might impede on other people’s view
• Cakes – Please deliver your baking items between 9am and 10.30am to the Hall Kitchen.
• Attached is the list of Silent Auction items. VERY impressive!

• All kids’ entertainment, the kids store and activities will cost between $1 – $7. Coins would be appreciated.
• There will be no supervision, children are the parents responsibility.Junior playground is out of bounds.

THE BAR AND OUR LICENCE CONDITIONS

• Alcoholic beverages will be available from the bar. There will be a selection of SOHO wines on offer that may be purchased by the bottle or glass as well as beers, low alcohol options and non alcoholic drinks
• To save our environment of plastic we have hired reuseable glasses for our wine.To cover the cost of hire, each glass given out will incurr a one-off $2 charge.  We ask that you place the glasses in the bins provided by the bar when you have finished using them.
• Free water will be available
• Alcohol will not be served to minors, only to people 18 and above. ID may be requested
• Please note you CANNOTbring your own alcohol to the event – This policy is strictly enforced
• The bar operating hours will be from midday till 5.30pm

Add to that the fine company of the Bayfield community and you have a fun day out for the whole family plus the added bonus of helping raise funds for your kids school!

You have seen what our community fundraising efforts can do with the turf installed on the bottom courts, now we want to do the same to the top courts, so our funds raised from this MOTF will help us pay for: Basketball court turfed (blue with white lines) and tennis court with white lines, Futsol turf between the senior playground and the basketball court and a 60m sprint track on the bottom court.

Bayfield’s iconic event Music on the Field returns this year, it’s 20^th Anniversary, featuring an array of local musicians and performers, fabulous food, fine wine and loads of entertainment for the kids.

Children of all ages will love the huge range of activities with exciting rides and entertainment including: Kids Only Shop, Ferris Wheel, Pirate Ship, Laughing Clowns, Boot Camp Obstacle Course, Disney Cups, Large Slide, Face Painters, Lego World and much more.

Started by Dave Dobbyn back in 1999, Music on the Fieldhas become a part of Bayfield School’s special character. Not only does the event bring our community together it also raises much needed funds.  This year we are fundraising for more sun-shades for the Junior area.

All you need to know:

• It all happens rain or shine on Saturday 23^rd March, 12 to 5.30 pm on the Bayfield School field
• Tickets ON SALE NOW via Kindo
• Limited edition t-shirts like those that sold out at the last event will go on sale soon

Music on the Field is Bayfield School’s biennial fundraising concert and a special day out for the whole family.  Involving an array of famous local musicians and entertainers, the event has become an iconic part of Bayfield School’s special character.  With live local music, entertainment for the children, fabulous food and fine wine, Music on the Field is an opportunity for you to support local children at a local school.

Originally created by ex-Bayfield’s parent Dave Dobbyn, the event continues to be a day of celebration, inspiration and enjoyment for the whole community.

Music on the Field attracts residents and friends from the immediate Herne Bay area and surrounds including Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, Westmere, and Freemans Bay.

About Bayfield School

Bayfield School is one of the oldest primary schools in Auckland.  In 1886 the school opened on the opposite side of Jervois Road from where it now stands.  In 1919 an old homestead was purchased over the road and the land was used for the school’s playing fields.  In 1975 the classrooms and playgrounds were reunited on the school’s current site.  The old school building remains a feature on the corner of Wharf and Jervois Roads.

Bayfield School is the only state non-secular primary school serving Herne Bay.  It is a small Decile 10 school and is often described as having a small country school feeling, yet only a few minutes from the city centre.  The school roll peaks at around 355 students a year.

The school has a very strong community spirit.  Parents, grandparents, friends and caregivers are closely involved with school activities and actively give support to various fundraising events such as Music on the Field.

We need the help of the parental community and businesses like yours to achieve our goals and ensure we have the resources required to teach and develop independent, balanced, achievers who are able to confidently take on the next stage of their school education.

As a Decile 10 school, Bayfield receives $885 less per child government funding than a Decile 1 school.  This is significant and leaves the school with a shortfall of over $300,000 per annum.  Fundraising is the way to bridge the substantial gap between the funding we receive from the government and the amount required to provide our students with the quality education they deserve.

Music on the Field is our major fundraising event for the 2019 year and one we rely on to help significantly reduce this year’s shortfall.  Fundraising enables the school to provide a library and librarian, IT equipment, and a music teacher.  These are resources that the school views as essential to the children’s education which is why the whole school community works so hard to maintain them.
